Please be aware the superior court is not authorized by law to give legal advice to private individuals. If you are seeking legal advice as to which forms should be filed, visit the Self-Help Center or contact a private concern.

If you would like each party to meet with the Family Law Court Services (FCS) Child Custody Recommending Counselor separately and at separate times, please fill out the Request for Separate Child Custody Recommending Counseling form.

We do not research over the telephone. There is a $15 fee for a clerk to search for a file if the search takes over 10 minutes. If requesting by mail, please remit a check or money order payable to Merced Superior Court along with a self-addressed stamped envelope.

You may also use the public computer in the Family Law office to lookup case information.

Over the Counter
The Court accepts cash and money orders only and does not accept credit cards or debit cards at this time.

By Mail
The Court accepts money orders by mail.

The court provides a public computer in the Family Law office that can be used to browse the following sites:

• I-CAN Legal
• Case lookup (Can only be accessed from the public computer)

A set of instructions are provided to assist you in using this service.
