The traffic division has jurisdiction over Vehicle Code violations, some local municipal ordinances, infractions, and minor misdemeanors.

The Jury Division is responsible for summoning prospective jurors for both civil and criminal cases where the parties have elected to have a jury of their peers decide the case.

Night Court for Small Claims cases is held at 5:00 pm on the second Wednesday of each month. Requests for Night Court are handled on a first come, first serve basis and must be made when you file your Small Claims case.


Please be advised that the Merced Superior Court Collections Division does not contact individuals via text messages demanding payment for a Court fee / fine. All correspondence is sent through the U.S Mail.
